Why this variety: The Summer Crisp Pear was introduced by our very own University of Minnesota to produce delicious reliable fruit where most other pear trees struggle or never fruit due to the cold. Grows fast, produces plentiful clusters of white flowers in spring, huge crops of beautiful chartreuse pears with a red blush, and can live for 70 years.
