Why this variety: Cultivated in NY in 1890, Imperial White currants are of the same species as the red currant. However, they lack the red pigment, hence the beautiful translucent pearly color with a hint of pink blush in the center.

Imperial white currants are the most popular of all white current verities around the world. Imperial has good sized berries and exceptional yield. As with all the currant varieties we grow, Imperial is resistant to white pine blister rust and many other insect and fungal pests.

Current plant size: Shrub 1+ foot tall in a 1 gallon pot.
