Will grow: 22’ Tall

Fruit Ripens: Around June

Ideal for: Fresh Eating/Dried/Juice/Jam/Baking

Why this variety: Black Gold was introduced by Cornell University in 1996. It’s a cross between Stark Gold and Stella making it extremely cold hardy, reliable, and high-yielding. It’s a late blooming variety keeping it’s flowers protected from late frosts. Black Gold cherries are dark red, heart shaped, deliciously sweet, and juicy. These are definitely going to be a favorite in the garden. It’s self-fruitful so it needs no other cherry tree to produce fruit but will help pollinate other mid and late blooming sweet cherries. It can pollinate Kristen Cherry but their bloom time may not always over lap as Kristen is an early-mid blooming tree.

Current plant size: 1” trunk diameter (5-7 feet tall with good branching in a 7 gallon nursery pot)

Root Stock: Mazzard F 12-1
